Portrait of Brian May by Yuri Kitagawa
The Eccentric Poets, or POT as they called themselves, was a doujinshi group that began in February of 1975, right around the same time as Manken Queen. Like Manken Queen, some members were previously a part of Manken JUM. There is also quite a bit of crossover with other groups, including Manken Queen—the same names in 1970s doujinshi circles pop up again and again. Overall, this seems to be a very professionally-run doujin circle, with a regular and ongoing publication schedule, well-organized tables of contents and information pages, and a number of very talented artists. The volumes are of relatively high printing quality and some even came with extra goodies, like postcards.
POT also had space at early Comikets, but their work was not as explicitly rock-oriented as some other doujinshi circles of the time. Like Manken Queen, the obscure nature of this doujinshi means I don't have a complete list of titles, but their tankoubon-sized regular volumes seem to be printed under the "Eccentric Poets" title, while their larger A4 cut illustration specials seem to be named "The Madmen's Tea Party". Eccentric Poets 3 has a fair amount of Queen content, while volume 4 has minimal. I have found a table of contents for volume 2, which looks as though it may also contain some Queen content, but of course I can't be certain until I see it.
These were all found in the wild in Japan. Even the guy I bought them from didn't know much about them.
