Illustration by Noriko AsanoVol. 19 sees the Japanese Queen fanclub in a time of transition. It's August 1981, and it seems the Japanese fandom might be losing some momentum. Many fans are disappointed that the most recent Japanese shows were only five dates at the Budoukan in Tokyo rather than a full-on country-wide tour, espcially fans in the Fukuoka area, which is far from Tokyo and was historically a hotbed of Queen fandom activity. The few fan opinion letters in this issue discuss how the band's image and music have been evolving, and whether they still resonate with fans. The fanart section has several pieces by people who have already submitted artwork before. There are some black & white photos from the North American tour, and the few news items presented are almost written as though they were for an audience who knew very little about the band, bizarrely.
The editor-in-chief duties were abruptly passed from Shigeru Arai to a man named Matsumura, who appeals to the fans to submit ideas for fanclub activities in an attempt to refresh the organization.
There is a blurb about the Queen live film to be shown on NHK's Young Music Show in August. Meanwhile, the concert footage shot in Tokyo in 1979 still hadn't seen a broadcast date yet, over two years later.
