They cut their hair!
The release of News of the World was right around the corner and the Japanese fans were getting antsy, both because of that and because it had been almost two years since Queen had toured the country. Unfortunately, Queen wouldn't play in Japan again until the Jazz tour in 1979. However, there is a note written in anticipation of the band returning that reminds the Japanese fans to mind their behavior by not hanging around the airport and hotels as much. In 1976, the boys were "beaten up" by fans at the airport and Brian lost a shoe. It was later recovered, but he was reportedly "furious".
Inouye's section is now titled "News of the Queen", and there's a section where fan club staff were given a chance to hear the new record and relay their impressions.
Interesting want ad in the back:
If you have recorded Queen live performances or interviews that were broadcast on radio or TV, such as last year's NHK-FM Dec 31st broadcast of "BBC in Concert", the "Young Jockey" broadcast on January 8th of this past year, or the "Rock On / Queen's Story" broadcast on January 26th, would you be willing to let me copy the tapes?
